To go to Abu Simbel's main attractions, the magnificent sun temple of Ramses, and the temple of queen Nefertari, our representative will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan and take you to the airport.
1813 saw the discovery of both temples, which at that time was nearly totally obscured by sand. It wasn't until 60 that the Egyptian government and UNESCO worked together to transfer both temples out of harm's way due to rising water levels on the Nile.
A painting portraying Ramses II's great victory at the Qadesh war may be seen within the temple. The Nefertari Temple is located north of the Ramses Temple and was erected by Ramses II for his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari, among other 200 spouses.
