The temple was built in the 13th century BC by Pharaoh Ramesses II as a memorial to himself and his wife Nefertari. One way from Aswan to Abu Simbel takes around three hours.
Breakfast at your hotel in Aswan, Egypt, is included in your room rate. Then, before lunch at 11:00 a.m., transfer to board your Nile River Cruise, where you’ll see the world-famous High Dam; the magnificent Philae Temple, dedicated to the twin goddesses Isis and Hathor, and the Unfinished Obelisk, the largest ancient obelisk still standing in ancient Egypt’s stone quarries. On the second day of your trip in Jordan, in the morning, we’ll go north to the ancient city of Jerash, located in the foothills of the Gilead Mountains. Colonnade street, oval plaza, nymphaeum, and temple of artemis are all examples of the city’s monumental Roman architecture, which is one of the best-preserved outside of Italy. To go to the Dead Sea, we’ll take a short drive first. The place has evolved into a health spa-like hotspot since it is the lowest point on the planet and contains a range of minerals with therapeutic characteristics. The mud’s mineral content is utilized for both medicinal and cosmetic purposes. Sheba and Cleopatra allegedly frequented the location because they were aware of its importance. The Dead Sea’s extreme salinity makes it impossible for life to thrive in the water, which is why it’s known as the “Dead Sea.” Before travelling back to Amman for Overnight, make sure you have time to soak in the mud and relax.
After a hearty breakfast, embark on a two-and-a-half-hour journey to Jordan’s top tourist destination, the Rose Red City of Petra. The city was founded by Nabataean Arabs in the 6th century B.C. and has stunning facades cut into the mountainsides. A 700-meter walk from the tourist center takes you to the Siq entrance, a 1200-meter long canyon bursting with color that rises more than 80 meters over your head and leads to the magnificent treasure.. As soon as you emerge the chasm, you’re awestruck by the breathtaking grandeur of Petra, one of the New World Wonders. You will travel to Amman through the Siq after your visit to Petra and spend the night there.
• Pick up from your hotel in Amman at 7:00 am and drive to the Allenby Bridge/King Hussein Border to exit Jordan. You’ll be greeted by your tour guide and driven across the Judean desert to Jerusalem, the capital of the Holy Land. Starting at the Mount of Olives, we make our way to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. As we go through the ancient city of Jerusalem, we see the Wailing Wall, the remaining vestige of the Jewish Temple that was demolished by the Romans. We’ll climb the Temple Mount if it’s available to guests so we may see the fabled Dome of the Rock. On the way to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre lies the Via Dolorosa, where Jesus Christ was nailed on the cross and buried. After that, you will back to Amman, Jordan.
It is departure day, but the memories you build here will last a lifetime. After breakfast, we will transport you back to Amman’s (Queen Alia’s) International Airport for your departure. Please recommend us to your friends.
